Pokémon Go is the first smartphone release from The Pokémon Company, which has been looking after this multimillion-selling video game franchise since 1998.The app is created by augmented reality specialist Niantic Inc, who were developer behind Google’s experimental AR game Ingress, it’s a massive-multiplayer, location-based spin-off from the role-playing fantasy series. Pokemon Go, described in simple terms, is a clever concept: Walk to real-life locations called PokeStops marked on a map on your phone to get items and collect the Pokemon that pop up along the way to gain XP.
Pokemon Go is so much downloaded that it has now more number of downloads than other popular apps like Twitter. Moreover, it is used for average 41 mins approx by users a day which is highest as whatsapp usage ia average 32 mins.
Game uses player’s smartphone camera and GPS signal and makes it sees as if pokemons are appearing on the streets. While walking around you can find more and more unique pokemons. To catch them pokeball appear and you have to through it with touch swipe on the pokemon. The target should be correct otherwise you will end up loosing pokeballs. With the optional augmented-reality turned on, it may look as if a Caterpie is peeking out from the grass just outside the front door, putting players right in the shoes of a Pokémon trainer.
Those blue squares are the Pokestops where you can find pokegifts like pokeballs and stardust etc. The Red colored tower is a PokemonGym where you can fight with other trainers. All Pokémon are displayed with a combat power. A Pokémon’s combat power is a rough measure of how powerful that Pokémon is in battle. Not all Pokémon of the same species will have the same CP. Generally, as a player levels up they will catch Pokémon with higher CP.
The ultimate goal of the game is to complete the entries in the Pokédex, a comprehensive Pokémon encyclopedia, by capturing and evolving to obtain the original 151 Pokémon. Though right now it is not available for India but soon they are going to launch it in second phase.
